Foreclosure Prevention & Predatory Lending Resources
In July 2007, UEDA helped convene a group of concerned professionals from the housing industry to discuss the many issues affecting individual homeowners and the housing industry as the result of sub-prime loans, inflated appraisals, foreclosure rescue and equity-stripping schemes, and other predatory behavior that has contributed to extraordinarily high foreclosure rates. The group is working to develop comprehensive strategies and to catalyze solutions designed to respond to these issues.

These approaches include consumer & homeowner outreach and education, legislative advocacy, and working with lenders and financial institutions to form real solutions for those who need it. Feel free to contact UEDA for more information on this group. One of the outcomes so far has been the creation of a Resources Flyer, compiled by UEDA and other partners. This one-pager lists various reputable sources of help for homeowners and consumers.
