THIS MONTH’S MEMBER SPOTLIGHT:

ACTS Housing
ACTS Housing aims to promote affordable homeownership that fosters a low-income family's ability to be
 self-empowered, thereby reducing community blight,ACTS Housing logo neighborhood deterioration, and poverty. The strategy of ACTS is to generate homeownership opportunities for inner-city residents within a targeted neighborhood so that an entire community can be transformed and sustained. Since 1992, ACTS has assisted nearly 1700 families purchase their first home and overseen more than 600 rehab projects.

ACTS Housing offers HUD-approved, one-on-one credit, personal finance, and homebuyer counseling, real estate brokerage services, rehab management, and post-purchase assistance.  They were recently awarded a $100,000 grant from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation to fight the impact of vacant and abandoned foreclosed homes in Milwaukee neighborhoods, and are an active member of Take Root Milwaukee.
