THIS MONTH’S MEMBER SPOTLIGHT:

Milwaukee Food Council
The Milwaukee Food Council began meeting in May 2007 as an ad hoc group and brings together citizens, professionals, and government to address issues in our regional food system. They focus on access to healthy, affordable food, land use planning, local food production and procurement, public health and other policy initiatives.  Over 230 diverse stakeholders are connected to the Food Council and 50+ regularly attend meetings, which are held bi-monthly throughout the year. Milwaukee Food Council

The collective impact of the group has been felt in policy change, stronger networks, coalitions and collaborations, increased awareness of complex food issues at the grass-root and grass-top levels, resulting in a burgeoning, dynamic food movement in Milwaukee. The Council is committed to building a healthy food system that is ecologically sustainable, economically vibrant, and socially just.

Learn more about them at www.milwaukeefoodcouncil.org, including a list of upcoming meeting dates.
