In 2007, UEDA committed itself to not only continuing the Annual Community Development Summit, but to also holding Quarterly Gatherings that feature various topics and issues of interest to our members and partners. • UEDA Spring Quarterly Gathering - May 7, 2009: “Nonprofit Marketing 101”- Members, partners and other guests of UEDA gathered to hear presenter Gary Mueller of Serve Marketing discuss the tactical issues related to marketing and raising awareness about organizations and their work. • UEDA’s 2nd Annual Fundraiser, Carnival Milwaukee: February 28, 2009. This year’s fundraiser was a celebration of the culture and diversity that is Milwaukee, with a tasting that featured an array of ethnic restaurants, and performances by musical and cultural groups. • Coalition for Advancing Transit meeting – October 14th, 2008: This group formed at the Quarterly Gathering held September 17th; at this meeting the Coalition came to consensus on its purpose and action steps to encourage elected officials to find regional solutions to transit in Southeast Wisconsin. • UEDA Quarterly Gathering – September 17th, 2008: Participants agreed to form a regional advocacy coalition around finding solutions to the challenges to preserve, improve and expand transit in Southeast Wisconsin.
