What we're working on...

Thank you to the 165+ people who joined us on November 16 for our Lunch & Learn session on the Milwaukee Rental Housing Resource Center (MKE RHRC). Along with Center co-partners, we discussed the collaborative model the MKE RHRC will be using to connect both tenants and landlords to trusted resources in order to prevent evictions and improve housing stability, when you can expect to see a physical space for the center, and how to engage with the services being offered starting in December. If you were unable to join us or would like to revisit the information shared during the session, you can view presentation slides here and a recording of the webinar here. Center co-partners are hosting a Giving Tuesday 'friendraiser' to help raise funds to support opening the doors of the MKE RHRC, and you can learn more about each co-partner via new social media pages for the Center on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn

On Saturday, November 21 UEDA's Take Root Milwaukee and Bank On Greater Milwaukee programs delivered workshops on credit building and homeownership. Take Root Milwaukee partnered with the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce to host a virtual home buying workshop to connect veterans to resources and products available to them when purchasing a home. View a recording of the workshop here. Bank On Greater Milwaukee partnered with Associated Bank to present a virtual workshop on Building A Solid Credit History as part of Ald. Coggs & Stamper's annual housing resource fair. View workshop recording.

CommonBond Communities Affordable Housing Forum
December 9 | 11AM-12PM | Virtual

Housing is one of the most impactful determinants of an individual’s overall health—especially mental health. When an individual’s home—their foundation—is at stake, caring for one’s health often takes a backseat to the anxiety, depression, and psychological distress that comes with housing instability. But when someone has a safe, stable, affordable home, they are much more able to focus on meeting other critical needs and reaching their goals. The conversation will center on the intersections in mental health and housing stability. We’re excited to share our work and hear from experts in the Milwaukee community. The forum will be completely virtual and free to attend. Registration >>
