UEDA Member Highlights
The United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County’s 2020 fundraising campaign brought in more than $60.1 million, exceeding their fundraising goal by over $5 million, increasing their ability to support programs that focus on enhancing the overall health, education and financial stability of the community.
Since March, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s MKE Responds Fund has distributed nearly $4.3 million to more than 190 nonprofits to support community needs that have been caused or deepened by COVID-19! Milwaukee Health Department Safe Holiday Guides
The City of Milwaukee Health Department wants residents to celebrate the holidays safely. Download and share the Holiday Guidance and Gathering Guidelines images to share with your networks and link to information on gathering guidelines, where to get free masks, testing sites, and more of the latest public health guidelines at milwaukee.gov/coronavirus.
Give Back Milwaukee Campaign
To help rally support for local nonprofits, Milwaukee Magazine has partnered with the Wisconsin Philanthropy Network to launch Give Back Milwaukee, a multimedia effort that will promote how you can donate your time and resources to organizations in Milwaukee that address crucial community needs.
Changes to the City of Milwaukee's Office of Small Business Development
In January the City of Milwaukee Office of Small Business Development will transition to become the Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI) and expand its operations to include advancing racial equity and inclusion, improving accessibility, supporting equal rights, and focus on advancing racial equity and inclusion in city government. This includes examining and improving existing and new services using racial equity best practices, ending disparities in City government (including hiring and promotions), strengthening outreach and public engagement for communities of color and strengthening partnerships with community stakeholders.
Milwaukee County Receives Federal Funding for BRT
The U.S. Department of Transportation and Federal Transit Administration announced a $40.9 million grant award to help the Milwaukee County Transit System move ahead with the East-West Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project which will connect Downtown Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center, as well as Marquette University, the city’s west side and Wauwatosa. Former Hostel Becoming First Housing Cooperative
The RiverBee redevelopment project is located between the Riverwest and Harambee neighborhoods and is set to begin in January of 2021. What was once Milwaukee's first hostel will now become the city's first housing cooperative, expanding options for affordable housing in the city. Learn more here.
City of Milwaukee Property Tax Payment Plan
The 2020 City of Milwaukee Combined Property Tax Bills are scheduled to be mailed out in mid-December. Due to the pandemic, the Treasures Office will not be accepting any in-person payments this year. Find out how you can pay your bill and learn about the the City of Milwaukee's ten-month, interest free property tax installment plan here.

2021 Business Leadership Academy
This interactive, ten-month experience develops and strengthens the skills of existing and emerging LGBTQ and allied leaders in the workplace by providing quality and transformative programming. The 2021 Program will be fully virtual, meeting from February to November on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 4PM-6:00PM. Applications are open and are due on January 14, 2021. Applications Open: MKE Responds Fund
The Greater Milwaukee Foundation is accepting applications for projects focused on helping to meet the food needs of children and families living in Milwaukee through their MKE Responds Fund. The fund will consider proposals from 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. An eligible fiscal sponsor may apply on behalf of an organization that is not a 501(c)(3).
